On Saturday September 26, 2009 there was a community meeting at the Cedar Creek Park in Eastvale. The Riverside Sheriff's Department Crime Prevention Unit presented an overview of the Neighborhood Watch program. They distributed materials and encouraged residents to form neighborhood watch groups.
Neighborhood Watch is the crime prevention program that trains the community members to be the eyes and ears of the Sheriff's Department. When you see, hear (or smell) anything suspicious, call the Sheriff to investigate the matter.
Let's all work together to keep our community safe. You can lead out in making your street a Neighborhood Watch block.
Eastvale has several targets.
Almost every street has a vacant bank owned house. - Vandalism is common
Many homes are vacant during the work day. - Burglars like seeing people leave for work.
Cars are left on the street/driveway over night. Thieves "harvest loose items"
Everyone has computers and credit cards. - Identity theft and stolen card information.
Because our crime rate is low, we can become complacent.
Note< you may know all of the safety rules. Do your children? your friends? your parents?
We are all encouraged to become the "Eyes and ears" for the Sheriff's Deputies.Call 9-1-1 about suspicious activities. You are not accusing anyone of anything. You are only asking the Sheriff to check it out!
